Siding replacement

When siding is rotting, leaking, or past saving, we replace it: tear-off, repairs underneath, new weather barrier and flashing, new siding and trim, and paint. One crew, start to finish.

Signs it's time to replace

  • Boards that are soft, swollen, or crumbling, especially near the ground and under windows
  • Water stains, mold, or musty smells on the inside of exterior walls
  • Paint that keeps peeling a year or two after it was done
  • Cracked, warped, or missing pieces in several places
  • Siding that's simply dated, and you want the house to look new again

If it's only a few spots, a repair may be enough. We'll tell you which makes sense for your house.

How a replacement goes

  1. We look at the house and quote it

We walk the walls with you, check for soft spots and leaks, and go over siding style and color.

  2. Tear-off

The old siding comes off and the debris is hauled away.

  3. Fix what's underneath

Rotted sheathing or framing is common once the old siding is off. We photograph it and show you before any extra work is done.

  4. Weather barrier and flashing

New house wrap, and flashing around windows, doors, and roof lines. This is what actually keeps the water out.

  5. New siding and trim

We specialize in James Hardie fiber cement: lap, board and batten, shingle, and panel, with matching trim.

  6. Paint and cleanup

Caulking, paint, and a full cleanup of the site. Then we walk the house with you.

Every stage is photographed and inspected by our own people. A standard renovation typically starts and finishes in under two weeks.

Why fiber cement

Fiber cement doesn't rot, and insects and woodpeckers leave it alone. In a climate this wet, that's the main reason to choose it over wood.

It holds paint well, comes in the classic styles (lap, shingle, board and batten), and it's noncombustible. Installed with the right flashing and clearances, it's a long-term fix.
